"All Kinds if Families" is a 40-page book with color illustrations, large type print, and several sentences on each page. It is designed to motivate beginning readers and to develop oral reading skills. The book illustrates many patterns of family life that fit the broad definition of family. The supportive function of the family in times of happiness as well as sadness is stressed. The student is encouraged to stop and think about his or her family and the role that he or she plays in it. The specified instructional and interest levels include kindergarten through grade 2.
